MFPL is a center established by the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna to provide an environment for excellent, internationally recognized research and education in the field of Molecular Biology.
Currently, the MFPL host around 60 independent research groups, involving more than 500 people from 40 nations.
… established at the MFPL in March 2016 and supported by the University and the Medical University of Vienna, aims to bring together PhD students and supervisors committed to promoting research across disciplinary barriers. The School is entirely driven by the principles of active learning and complements the in-depth, specialist training offered by PhD tracks on Campus and elsewhere. “Molecules of Life” advances PhD education by empowering young scientists to integrate knowledge and expertise from a variety of disciplines, providing a forum to freely exchange and critically challenge ideas. “Molecules of Life” students will be supervised by interdisciplinary committees and will have full access to state-of-the-art facilities to realize the opportunities for discovery offered by recent technological developments and translate them into answers complex scientific questions.
The School replaces and extends the MFPL PhD Programme (est. 2009), an internationally renowned programme with hundreds of applications per year and a current strength of more than 140 students from 30 nations.
