VBC PhD Programme students will be supervised by top scientists and have full access to state-of-the-art facilities, providing the foundation for a successful scientific career. This well established internationally known and focused programme receives around 1000 applications per year from all over the world. Currently the student body includes 125 PhD students from 29 nations.
… established at the MFPL in March 2016 and supported by the University and the Medical University of Vienna, aims to bring together PhD students and supervisors committed to promoting research across disciplinary barriers. The School is entirely driven by the principles of active learning and complements the in-depth, specialist training offered by PhD tracks on Campus and elsewhere. “Molecules of Life” advances PhD education by empowering young scientists to integrate knowledge and expertise from a variety of disciplines, providing a forum to freely exchange and critically challenge ideas. “Molecules of Life” students will be supervised by interdisciplinary committees and will have full access to state-of-the-art facilities to realize the opportunities for discovery offered by recent technological developments and translate them into answers complex scientific questions.
The School replaces and extends the MFPL PhD Programme (est. 2009), an internationally renowned programme with hundreds of applications per year and a current strength of more than 140 students from 30 nations.
