Outstanding Research at Vienna BioCenter

The 4 research institutes (GMI, IMBA, IMP, MFPL) at the Vienna Biocenter host 88 groups conducting groundbreaking research in modern life science (see Research Areas).

The highly interactive community hosts 1.300 researchers coming from 70 countries who have made remarkable contributions in a wide range of life science areas, helped by the presence of critical mass in key Research Focus Topics. Achievement, recognition and support for their research is reflected by the 45 ERC research grant awards, 24 EMBO members, and 11 Wittgenstein awardees over the last 20 years.
